Is this DDR-inspired? Hardjump, jumpstyle, hardstyle. Whatever it is, I so love it.
This is how kids dance in Malaysia
This is how the French do it
The new exercise in schools?
When Borat can do it
So can a kid
*DDR = Dance Dance Revolution

Birthday parties. When was the last time you attended one?
For 2007, I decided to skip most club birthdays and join the 'home' ones instead. Age perhaps, but it is also the friendship rating points that we are talking here.
Club birthdays require lesser commitment and the invitations usually come from friends you 'barely' know or 'rarely see'. Cynically, I think we'r only there to fill up the room to make a crowd. The comfort level goes up with each person you shake hands with and then, either you go really drunk to have a good time, or stand really still to watch peeps having a good time.
Home parties are different. Not confine to just home, it also includes those dinners at restaurants (like mine at Izakaya and yian's at Al cerdo), at pubs or even by the streets (circa 1993 bash at DU). I recommend that you only attend home parties for friends that you really love because the comfort level can sometimes fluctuate due to smaller group dynamics with conversations mandatory. It is also very important that you are commited to be part of the celebration, not the crowd. Like Yeng's 27th birthday party at Kianti's Kelana Jaya on Wed night. Definitely one of the best parties with the friends that truly spells C-O-M-F-O-R-T.

I look forward doing this every year.
1. Replacing the old notebook with a fresh one (not electronic, mind you!)
2. Flipping through pages for old scribbles and passwords
3. Take 5 to reminisce the times each note was written (I like the odd-hour ones)
4. Deciding on the ones I wanna bring forward
5. Deciding on the ones I wanna thrash (ouch!)
6. Deciding on the ones that go into the storehouse (aka memories that I wanna keep for a little while before it goes to thrash)
This is my ritual. The transfer is a delicate process, just like planning. Those who've ever sewn, stiched or knit would understand. The mood must be right; clean air, not-too-cluttered desk, fresh white A3 pads and a good Sharpie, a cup of coffee on the left and music. My surrounding ain't important cause there's the headset to clear the debris.
This year, I noticed most notes were records of dreams. I like dreams and the romantic notion it exudes; like the stories that wouldn't happen in reality, the light twisted conversations and the awesome feeling of floating and watching my own life taking place from a third-person's eyes. I don't think you'll find answers in dreams. But if you are looking for bits of common sense and if it falls together, you are lucky.(This is page 2 of a missing page 1)

The silicon chip inside her head
gets switched to overload
and nobody's gonna go to school today
she's gonna make them stay at home
And Daddy doesn't understand it
He always said she was good as gold
And he can see no reason
Cos there are no reasons
What reasons do you need to be shown
Tell me why
I don't like Mondays
I want to shoot
The whole day down
The telex machine is kept so clean
and it types to waiting world.
And Mother feels so shocked
Father's world is rocked
And their thoughts turn to
Their own little girl
Sweet 16 ain't that peachy keen
No it ain't so neat to admit defeat,
They can see no reasons
Cos there are no reasons
What reasons do you need to be shown
All the playing's stopped in the playground now
She wants to play with her toys awhile
And school's out early and soon we'll be learning
That the lesson today is how to die
And then the bullhorn crackles
And the captain tackles
With the problems and the how's and why's
And he can see no reasons
Cos there are no reasons
What reasons do you need to die

Here goes...smoking like a chimney.
My back hurts, my eyes are sore.
Another late night. I don't like it anymore

Tonight, I'll walk the streets of phantom past
Just to breathe the air of that mystery being who was almost there
Welcome to the Big Bang universe, I tell myself.
